Rosa Jeanette Richmond-Blevins

A devoted mother of three children and the wife to Ronald C Blevins for 17yrs, Mrs.                                                     Blevins was dedicated to providing a safe environment, in which her children could                                                     succeed. Education and learning was very important to her. She enjoyed reading and                                                 researching topics of interest at the library. In addition to a love of learning,

Mrs. Blevins believed in giving back to the community. She served on the neighbor

watch, volunteered at the soup kitchen and worked with other moms in mothers against                                             drunk driving (M.A.D.D).

Mrs. Blevins instilled a value for learning in her children, she wanted to make sure that they received a quality education and were prepared for the opportunities that were presented to them. In order for her children to play organized sports, she required them to maintain an above average grade point, to be well behaved in the classroom and to actively serve and contribute to their community.

In honor of my mother and the values she instilled in me, this scholarship is my way of paying it forward and assisting youth in reaching their education goals.
